first star trek purchases?! what are yous guys? like 15 years old? Wink Wink Wink

LOL!  While I do wish I was younger, I don't wish to be THAT young!.

I cant believe you guys!! I am not a trekkie, but I do own all the films on DVD, and the newest one I though was pretty good and does dserve the Steelbook. Grin

I grew up watching Star Trek and I've seen all the older movies, I just never got into them enough to buy them on dvd.  What is funny is that I have seen enough of the tv shows and movies that I was very familiar with some of the little tie-ins that the new movie has with the series.  I thought the new movie was excellent, and I'm looking forward to when it comes out.  I thought the movie was great on it's own and has some awesome action in it, but it seemed even better for me because I knew about some of the back story from watching Star Trek in the past.  I agree completely that this one deserves the SteelBook™ treatment.

You know what's going to happen once I get the Star Trek SteelBook™, don't you?  I'll most likely pick up the rest of the movies.  I doubt I pick up the tv shows though.  If I did, I'd probably get the original series only 'cos those are the ones I think I would like the most.

Oh, and I realized that I was mistaken about not having any Terminator dvd SteelBooks™.  I have the Terminator: SCC dvd SteelBook™.  I was thinking of the movies though when I wrote I don't have any Terminator dvd SteelBooks™ since Terminator Salvation is tied more to the movies than the tv show (I believe; I haven't seen it yet).

Sorry for going off topic here guys.  We now bring you back to our regularly scheduled program, Transformers: ROTF.

Damn, we've been discovered!

I can't speak for snaus', but I think that maybe I subconsciously avoided buying any of the previous Star Trek movies 'cos I was genuinely scared of becoming a die-hard Trekkie.  I don't think I could stay married long if I started wearing pointy ears, speaking in Klingon, and constantly yelling into my cell phone at some guy with an accent named Scottie to give me more power!  The fact that I have seen them all a few times over when I've come across them on broadcast tv should tell you that I'm one of those closet Trekkie freaks.  If I wind up living alone after this newest Star Trek movie is released, you'll know where to find me (at the next Star Trek Convention!).

I never watched any of the Star Trek series on TV but have seen nearly every Star Trek movie in theatres (I think the only ones are like the first one or two as I was too young when they came out).

I am strange I cannot pick up in the middle of a series I have to start from the beginning and watch it all the way through, so that used to be a problem before TV dvds as if something was in season 2 or 3 I would never watch it.  I have always wanted to buy some seasons of Generations as I think I would like them they are just so darn expensive.

I do own the first 8 movies, need to get the last 2 just want to make sure they are the thick old versions to match my first 8.

And Snausages check out Fringe awesome sci-fi show its like a mixture of X-files and CSI.

...hm.. a complete Season of Star Trek: TNG is 15 bucks on amazon.co.uk ... it´s even less on sale and often sells for less than 10 used on ebay ... too much...??    Huh

I agree wholeheartedly.  I actually am saving all this seasons episodes on the Tivo until I can get through the first season dvds again.  I started Sunday and am already halfway through the season.  I almsot forgot how good the first season is.

Depends on what you mean by bucks.  Season sets go for about $40 US on Amazon.  These sets were expensive when they first came out.  Like x-files expensive.

UK Bucks = british pound.. atm they´re 15 NEW/sealed , a lil cheaper on ebay UK and used I´ve seen them for less then 10.. even converted to US$ that´s not realy a lot for a complete season set..
they used to sell for 100-130 EURO (1st release in limited packaging) since they´ve rereleased them in slipcased slimcases they´re cheap as chips
